Sheila finally serves divorce papers to Davido's aide, Israel

What started off as a flashy celebrity wedding has now taken a public and bitter turn. Sheila Courage, the estranged wife of Davido’s controversial aide Israel Afeare, popularly known as Israel DMW, has finally served him official divorce papers, putting a legal stamp on their young wedding, following their social media outburst.

The latest development comes months after a series of online back-and-forths between the couple, with Israel publicly airing his grievances while Sheila maintained a more private stance. While there were initial hopes that the duo might reconcile, sources close to the situation confirm that Sheila has decided to walk away for good.

According to sources close to Sheila, Israel allegedly refused to accept the divorce papers for months. Sheila reportedly sent a bailiff to his residence several times, but Israel bluntly refused to be served.

“He kept dodging and hoping she would change her mind,” the insider told Charming Magazine.

It wasn’t until a close friend from Israel’s Benin circle stepped in to help Sheila locate him, that she was finally able to push the process through.

“She was relieved,” another source revealed. “She had been waiting patiently, but he clearly wasn’t ready to let go.”

Insiders say Israel held on to the hope of reconciliation, but Sheila had already made up her mind. Serving him was not out of spite, but closure.

Recalls that the couple’s grand wedding held in Benin back in 2022 was filled with glamour and celebrity attention, with Davido himself playing a major role in the celebration. But soon after, reports of irreconcilable differences and public spats emerged.

From Israel’s controversial online behavior to claims of immaturity and disrespect, the marriage appeared rocky from early on. While Israel often took to social media to vent or appeal, Sheila kept her cool and made her moves silently, but firmly.

Now, with divorce papers officially served, Sheila is turning the page on that chapter for good.

Nigerians have taken to social media with mixed reactions. Some offering sympathy, others backing Sheila’s decision to step away.

“No woman deserves to be dragged through unnecessary drama,” a user commented.
“He thought delay meant hope, but sis chose peace,” another added.
