Donald Trump's ICE deports Simon Guobadia to Nigeria

Simon Guobadia, the estranged husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, has been deported to Nigeria following an extended stay in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention.

The 61-year-old businessman was reportedly flown out of the United States recently after being held at the Stewart Detention Center in Georgia since his February 2024 arrest by immigration officials. A close associate confirmed his removal and shared that, despite the ordeal, Simon remains optimistic and is even hoping to meet with former U.S. President Donald Trump.

Guobadia is no longer listed in the Department of Homeland Security’s custody database. Since his return to Nigeria, he has launched a T-shirt line intended to raise awareness and offer support to individuals impacted by immigration enforcement.

Simon, who first entered the U.S. in 1982, had overstayed his visa twice, which disqualified him from securing American citizenship. His deportation has added another twist to his ongoing divorce from Porsha Williams, who filed to end their 15-month marriage earlier this year. With Simon now back in Nigeria, the legal proceedings are expected to continue via virtual court appearances.

Delays in the divorce case were largely due to his detention, but with his immigration status now resolved, the process is set to move forward.
