At a Christmas party organised for the homeless and less privileged people on 16th December 2018, Aina Omo-Bare shares the story behind her NGO (IDIAS FOUNDATION).
The story behind my charitable acts started from home. You know what they say – charity begins at home! And that in my case is a FACT, bless my dear mother, she was such a giving woman and she made it her point of duty to embed these traits in her children. Her favourite saying to us growing up was, “There is more blessing in giving than in receiving, and the hand that stays on top can never be underneath”. As a child I never fully understood, but as time went by and life threw lemons at me, I finally fully understood, and began to make lemonade.
