Nigerians react as UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer moves to end country's dependence on foreign labour

Nigerians have taken to social media to react after the UK prime minister, Keir Starmer announced his plans to end the country’s dependence on foreign labour.

He opined that the Britain is addicted to cheap overseas labour and young people aren’t put first.

He wrote:

“For too long, Britain has been addicted to cheap overseas labour — while 1 in 8 of our own young people aren’t in education, employment or training. I’m putting our young people first, investing in skills they need and ending our dependence on foreign labour.”

He further added that foreign criminals ave no place in Britain. “Foreign criminals have no right to be in Britain.  We’ve removed over 3,500 since July — 16% more than the last year of the Tories. And that’s just the start.”

Nigerians have taken to different social media account to react to his plans.

One Beamnaturalhairproducts wrote, “Your Country, your choice! 50% of your youth refused to work and depend on public funds, especially when they get free housing easily! Some of them don’t even go to Tertiary institution!”

One crochet by mo wrote, “Una don use us build una Country finish, now una no need us again abi”

“If African countries starts getting better, only 2 percent will be relocating. That place where most of their lives is shifts and shifts” an Instagram user wrote.
