NDLEA Declares Alleged Drug Kingpin 'Odogwu' and Three Associates Wanted, Freezes ₦9.84 Billion and Seizes Assets

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared an alleged drug kingpin, Nnamuka Kelvin Uchenna, popularly known as Odogwu, and three of his suspected associates wanted over their alleged involvement in operating a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory, manufacturing illicit drugs, and laundering proceeds from drug trafficking.

The three other suspects declared wanted are Emmanuella Chinonso Iroka, Nnamuka Ifeanyi Kingsley, and Ekechi Franklin Chijioke, also known as Ekene Okwunaga.

According to the NDLEA, the declaration followed an order granted by Justice Iniekenimi Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court after the agency filed an application before the court on July 3, 2026.

The case stems from the discovery of an illegal methamphetamine production facility at Isiozi, in Umuaka, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, during an NDLEA raid conducted on February 25, 2026. During the operation, anti-narcotics officers recovered 18.4 kilograms of methamphetamine along with chemicals and equipment believed to have been used in the manufacture of the illicit drug.

The agency said subsequent investigations linked the four suspects to the operation. However, they allegedly fled and have remained at large since the raid.

NDLEA further disclosed that its financial investigation uncovered bank accounts allegedly connected to the suspects, leading to the freezing of funds with a combined balance of ₦9.84 billion.

In addition to freezing the accounts, the agency obtained interim forfeiture orders covering several assets believed to be proceeds of drug trafficking. The assets include a filling station, multiple residential buildings, and four Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs).

Reacting to the development, NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Buba Marwa, commended the officers who carried out the investigation, describing the operation as another major breakthrough in the agency’s ongoing fight against drug trafficking and illicit financial networks.

Marwa also appealed to members of the public to assist law enforcement agencies with credible information that could lead to the arrest of the wanted suspects. He reaffirmed the NDLEA’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking syndicates and protecting communities from the dangers posed by the production and distribution of illicit drugs.

The agency urged anyone with useful information regarding the whereabouts of the four suspects to report to the nearest NDLEA office or other relevant security agencies.
