Four children from same parents die in fire outbreak in Lagos

Chukwudi Micheal and Bolani Micheal are in mourning after four of their children were killed in an inferno that destroyed their two-bedroom apartment on Tapa Road, Oke-Oko, Isawo, in Lagos State’s Ikorodu area, Charmingpro reports.

The couple was sleeping in their room with their eight-year-old daughter when the inferno broke out in the room with the four boys.

Jeremiah, their 12-year-old son, died on the spot, while the three others, Prayer (18), Trust in God (14), and Ebube (10), suffered severe burns and were taken to a hospital, where they died a few days later.

“After waking up, I alerted neighbors, who assisted me in breaking the boys’ windows because their door was locked.” We were able to save three of the boys from the fire, but one had already died from his injuries. We rushed them to the hospital right away using a neighbor’s car, but we eventually lost them,” their 46-year-old father told Punch.

The distressed father noted that the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service only arrived in the morning after the fire had been extinguished by neighbors.

However, Amodu Shakiru, the Public Education Officer of the state fire service, stated that the fire was extinguished by firefighters and that five people were rescued.

“We rescued five people and recovered their bodies.”
