AFROEUROPA Gala Night: Celebrating Unity and Diversity


London, UK – The maiden edition of AFROEUROPA Gala Night was a resounding success, held on October 8th, 2022, at the prestigious King Edward Conference Hall in Newbury Park, London.  Hosted by MCs Kenny Osinowo and Abi Bada, this interactive and vibrant event aimed to celebrate diversity and promote social harmony. With a relaxed and beautiful ambiance, the Gala Night provided an excellent platform for networking and business development opportunities, attracting a diverse audience of community leaders, accomplished entrepreneurs, corporate individuals, and members of the community.

The evening commenced with a glamorous red-carpet experience, where guests arrived in style and had the opportunity to capture memorable photographs and engage in interviews. The networking session that followed allowed attendees to connect and build valuable relationships with like-minded individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration.

One of the standout moments of the event was a captivating fashion show by Kitted Fashion, renowned for their innovative designs that seamlessly blended African and European influences. The runway came alive with models showcasing stunning ensembles, representing the vibrant fusion of cultures and celebrating the unique beauty that diversity brings.

Expert speakers Dr. Lady Waynett Peters, CEO of The Extraordinary Achievers Awards, and Ms. Tokunbo Sonowo, HR Specialist and CEO of Suscito Ltd, delivered insightful talks on the theme of the night, “It Takes Two!” Their speeches resonated with the audience, highlighting the power of collaboration, inclusivity, and the strength that comes from embracing diversity.

Throughout the night, guests were treated to a mesmerizing performance by the legendary Omo Whyte, whose music transcended cultural boundaries, creating an electrifying atmosphere that had everyone on their feet. Ace comedian Don Nice provided moments of laughter with a hilarious comedy skit.  The stage also came alive with vibrant cultural, musical, and dance performances, showcasing the rich heritage of African and European cultures further reinforcing the theme of unity.

Indulging in an assortment of delectable food and drinks, attendees savored a culinary journey that reflected the fusion of flavors from both continents. The menu delighted taste buds and further exemplified the harmonious blend of cultures.

The event also incorporated various interactive elements to enhance the guest experience. The 360 Degrees Camera captured memorable moments, allowing guests to relive their experiences through immersive visuals. A raffle draws with fantastic prizes added an element of excitement to the evening, rewarding lucky ticketholders and adding an element of surprise and anticipation.

To recognize outstanding leadership and community service, awards were presented to Chief Bimbo Roberts for Outstanding Leadership, Ayan De First (Mr. Culture) as the African Cultural Ambassador in Diaspora, and Ms. Aina Omobare for her charitable works and community service through her NGO, Idia’s Community Kitchen. These individuals served as inspiring role models, demonstrating the positive impact that can be achieved through dedication, vision, and a commitment to serving others.

Building on the overwhelming success of the inaugural edition, AFROEUROPA 2023 is scheduled to take place on September 30th, 2023, at the King Edward Conference Hall in London. Under the theme “Unity is Strength,” the event promises another spectacular evening filled with various side attractions that celebrate diversity, foster unity, and provide exceptional entertainment.
