Baba Ijesha

The renowned actor James Olarewaju aka Baba Ijesha’s court case has taken a fresh turn after accusations that a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) tape that is part of the evidence in his lawsuit was tampered with.

The troubled actor is facing a six-count child defilement accusation that includes claims of indecent treatment of a minor, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by penetration.

Engr. Adeleke Lawrence, a defense witness and specialist in CCTV installation and maintenance, made the assertion while testifying before an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on Thursday, February 17.

Following the request of defence counsel, Babatunde Ogala, two video recordings of Baba Ijesha were aired during the resumption of proceedings on Thursday, February 17. (SAN).

The first video showed the defendant sitting on a sofa with the victim. Two men and a woman walked out in the recording, which had no audio.

Asked of his opinion on what he saw, the witness said: “The gentleman and the lady appeared to be acting the way they were asked to do.”
