On Sunday, he made the announcement while speaking at an event commemorating the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajambiamila’s, 60th birthday in Abuja.
While praising the Speaker and his deputy, Idris Wase, Tinubu said politicians should learn how the duo has maintained a stable relationship since they began their reign.
“You are an excellent symbol of unity and honesty.”
“Thank you for both of you; you haven’t upset the apple cart, and we need to learn from both of you how you made the pair work because I’m still looking for a running mate.”
Tinubu’s statement comes after the APC submitted Kabiru Masari’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission as the former Lagos State Governor’s running mate.
However, there has been widespread opposition to a Muslim-Muslim ticket, which some key stakeholders believe is the only way for the APC to win the 2023 Presidential election.
Earlier, Tinubu praised Gbajabiamila for his role in his election as the APC’s presidential candidate.
