Abdulmumin Jibrin, a former member of the House of Representatives, has dismissed speculation that the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, will be a running mate to his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, Charmingpro reports.

Jibrin stated this on Channels Television on Sunday, amid reports that Kwankwaso is in talks with Obi about a possible merger.

He explained that Kwankwaso, who he believes is one of the most popular politicians in the country’s north, would receive at least 70% of total votes, while Obi would receive only 30%.

Kwankwaso, he claims, has more experience than Obi and cannot deputize the Labour Party candidate.

“Clearly, Kwankwaso will not be Peter Obi’s running mate,” he said. Kwankwaso should be the presidential candidate by any standard due to his extensive experience.”

“At the end of the day, when it comes to contribution in terms of votes, it will be roughly 70 to 30 percent.” We intend to bring 70 percent of the votes from the North.
