Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate for 2023, has stated that his party’s victory in Osun State has started the march to reclaim Nigeria’s greatness, Charmingpro reports.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Ademola Adeleke, the PDP candidate who received 403,371 votes, the winner early on Sunday.

The incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), came in second with 375,027 votes.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Atiku stated that he adored the people of Osun State for obvious reasons.

He stated that no matter how difficult the situation, men and women of courage and astute valour in Osun State will never be let down.

“At this point, when our country needs to take a break from the shameful effects of bad governance,” he said, “it shall be on record that Osun State provided the compass into that brighter future that awaits us on the horizon.”

“The referendum on the administration of the APC has begun with the verdict of the people of Osun State in electing Senator Ademola Adeleke, while we know that the 2023 general election will be a full referendum,” the statement said in part.

“It is unthinkable that Nigerians will reward the APC for its shortcomings over the last seven years.” And in a state like Osun, for example, people haven’t felt the effects of good governance in a long time.
