Dayo Kujore

Dayo Kujore, a 63-year-old Juju musician, has passed away.

Kujore, one of the pioneers of the Nigerian-styled musical art form, died on Monday, according to his daughter, Dayo Kujore.

The cause of death for the ‘Soko Extra’ singer has yet to be confirmed, but the family is expected to release an official statement soon.

The Juju mythology began on April 4, 1958, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

On April 4, 2022, he would have turned 64.

He began playing the guitar at the age of ten and rose to fame for inventing Soko music, a new kind of Juju music.

Elevation, Wisdom, Joy, Easy Life, and the famous Soko Xtra are some of his albums.
