Nkiruka, a social media user, mocked citizens who were protesting the Bola Tinubu-Kashim Shettima ticket, Charmingpro reports.
The politicians are running for the presidency of Nigeria in 2023 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Opponents and a segment of Nigerians are criticizing the ruling party and the candidates for their choice.
Critics argue that the APC ticket is unbalanced because the former governors of Lagos and Borno are Muslims.
But Tinubu and Shettima’s supporters are arguing that ability, not religion, should be the deciding factor.
In her response, Twitter user @nkyru slammed those who criticized the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
Nkiruka stated that such people travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and dress in Islamic garb.
“Some Nigerians are questioning the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket.” The same Nigerian will travel to the UAE and even dress as a Muslim oooh!” she tweeted.
The remark sparked a flurry of strong and divergent reactions.
“What does wearing an abaya have to do with questioning the Muslim-Muslim ticket?” @Misstoruja wondered.
“Your analogy, -and I shudder to use the word analogy because your tweet is anything but- is the same as saying you won’t take okada anymore because there was a plane crash.”
“Nkiru, in your small world, the entire Northern Christian population in a pluralistic society like Nigeria doesn’t have a competent person,” wrote @Yale Lad.
“Does your definition of competence exclude managing the diversity of your population?” Doesn’t include dealing with sensitivities.”
However, in response to the tweet, @afolabiolusola2 stated, “They want Tinubu to pick Christian so that he can lose.”
“Because Muslims are a minority in the south, there has never been a Muslim president or Vice President from the south, and Christians are a minority in the north, there has never been a Christian president or Vice President from the north.”
“They want Tinubu, a Muslim from the south (minority), to choose a Christian from the north (minority) so that Atiku can easily win.” Because Obi knows he can never win.”
Tinubu and Shettima met at the Abuja airport on Monday. They are expected to attend the APC campaign’s grand finale ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
