Datti Baba-Ahmed, the presidential running mate of the Labour Party, has revealed why he parted ways with President Muhammadu Buhari, Charmingpro reports
Both Baba-Ahmed and Buhari were members of the now-defunct Congress for Progressive Change, or CPC.
He was elected to the defunct party’s Kaduna North Senatorial District in 2011.
However, Baba-Ahmed stated that he parted ways with Buhari due to ideological differences.
He revealed that Buhari had lost his principles and bearings, prompting him to part ways with the president.
“Over time, President Buhari lost his principles and bearings,” Datti said in Kano, “making it difficult for allies like myself to abide by his political philosophy and ideas.”
According to Baba-Ahmed, the party is making steady progress in the North.
He assured that efforts would be made to ensure that voters vote for LP in 2023.
