PHOTOS: Tears flow as Nollywood Comic actor Baba Suwe is laid to rest in Lagos

Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, a veteran comic actor, has been laid to rest on Thursday, in Lagos state.

Charmingpro Magazine learnt that the veteran actor was committed to mother earth around 11:05 am.

The funeral was attended by Adesola Omidina, the late comedy actor’s son, and other Nollywood stars.

When they arrived at Baba Suwe’s home to express their condolences, many well-wishers and sympathizers could not hold back their tears.

Meanwhile, a slight disagreement between Islamic clerics and the family of the late Nollywood actor had caused a delay in the burial of the popular comic actor.

Charmingpro Magazine reports that Baba Suwe was laid to rest on Thursday in his Ikorodu residence in Lagos state.

Massive crowd early Thursday morning besieged the Ikorodu residence of the late actor to catch a glimpse of his body.

Sheikh Ahamad Olanrewaju Alfulanny, a cleric who talked to reporters, voiced his displeasure with the family’s and other well-wishers’ un-Islamic behavior.

He pointed out that in Islam, a dead individual is usually buried within a few hours of being declared dead.

Despite the fact that Baba Suwe was a celebrity Islam till his death, he declared that he did not allow for superfluous jamborees during graves.

He said, “There are so many things that they are doing, that are un-Islamic, they put his body in a casket, some other well-wishers even said they want to take his body round, but the family has told us they won’t bury him with his body inside the casket.”

Well-wishers, sympathisers were unhappy over the decision but the clerics said the family has agreed to abide by the Islamic practice.
