Senator Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has admitted that if President Muhammadu Buhari had not signed the amended Electoral Act 2022 into law, he would have lost Saturday’s election to Governor Gboyega Oyetola  Charmingpro reports.

Adeleke stated this on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Monday.

He also thanked President Buhari for congratulating him on his victory.

“I intend to pay him (Buhari) a visit once I receive my certificate of return.” The opposition does not usually congratulate one another.

“So, Buhari is trying to leave a legacy. If he had not signed the Electoral Act, there would have been room for rigging because they did that to me in 2018.

“But with the Electoral Act now in place, the results were just flowing in,” Adeleke explained.

When asked if Governor Oyetola had contacted him, he responded, “I am still waiting to hear from him.”
