One of the ten men died, and six others were injured to varying degrees; four of the six women were also injured.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the accident, stating that a Toyota Previa minibus registered as KSF145HN and a Toyota Avensis registered as AAA301HN collided due to excessive speeding.
“The suspected causes of the crash were excessive speed, which led to loss of control because both drivers were moving on the same lane at high speed,” said Florence Okpe, FRSC spokesman in Ogun.
According to Okpe, the injured victims were taken to Idera Hospital in Sagamu, while others were taken to FMC in Abeokuta.
She also stated that the deceased victim’s body was deposited at Idera mortuary.
