Esther Gulmu, the chairperson of the Taraba State chapter of the Labour Party (LP), said on Monday in Jalingo, the state capital, that Nigerians are fervently seeking good governance, Charmingpro reports
Esther, who made the remarks while hosting supporters of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the state, believes that Nigerians are in desperate need of a leader who will free them from the dungeon of slavery.
“The Peter Obi revolution that we are all witnessing today is a clear indication that Nigerians are tired of bad leadership,” she stated.
“It is a well-known fact that Nigeria is in very bad shape, from security to economy to social life and every other aspect of the country.” It’s time to change the narrative, or we’ll be stuck with it for the next eight years.”
She also stated that the Taraba Labour Party is prepared to win both the governorship and the presidential election in 2023.
“We can’t go on like this with no pension, no gratuity, no salary, especially for primary school teachers and local government workers,” she lamented.
Tarabans and Nigerians in general, she says, will face a choice in 2023: “either we want to suffer for another eight years in this state and in Nigeria, or we want to change the narratives.”
Though the party had no gubernatorial candidate for Taraba State at the time of filing this report, she assured supporters that the name of the right man for the job would be revealed in no time.
Esther, as reported by newsmen, is the first female chairperson to preside over the affairs of a political party since the establishment of the state in 1991 and the establishment of democracy in 1999.
