Senator Dino Melaye, a former federal lawmaker, has slammed Minister of State for Labour and Employment Festus Keyamo for his recent outburst against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, Charmingpro reports
Charmingpro recalls that Keyamo attacked the former Vice President on Friday, condemning his presidential ambition.
In the interview, the Minister stated that Atiku has nothing to offer the country and that the PDP candidate lacks the capacity to rule Nigeria as president.
Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, is far superior to Atiku in terms of capacity and experience, according to Keyamo.
Dino, who was angered by Keyamo’s assertions, responded by saying the Minister lacked the moral fortitude to attack Atiku.
Dino, a former PDP governorship candidate in Kogi State and current spokesperson for Atiku’s 2023 presidential campaign, argued that anyone who has served as Vice President is qualified for the top job.
Dino challenged the minister to a debate in a video posted on his social media accounts, vowing to break him (Keyamo) into pieces.
“Ask Nigerians today, what portfolio does Keyamo hold?” he said. Many people will tell you that they are unaware of his ministry because he is redundant, inactive, and unnoticed.
“Because he is not known as Minister, he is mistaking his officer for the office of Minister of State for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” No educated and intellectually sound Nigerian will abuse the office of Vice President of Nigeria.
“What Keyamo targeted was not Atiku Abubakar, but the office of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the country’s number two position.”
“Because he has monetized his conscience, he will fail to recognize that the office of Nigerian Vice President has some ministries and agencies under its direct supervision and oversight.”
