Tobi Amusan of Nigeria has won gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Charmingpro reports

According to Charmingpro, Amusan became the first Nigerian athlete to win a World Athletics Championship gold medal when she won the women’s 100m hurdles in Oregon last month.

The 25-year-old, who had broken the world record in the semi-finals with a time of 12.12 seconds, crossed the finish line in 12.06 seconds at Hayward Field.

Then, on Sunday, Amusan demonstrated that her outstanding performance in Oregun was no fluke.

The world champion successfully defended her title in the women’s 100m hurdles final at Alexander Stadium on Sunday.

The Nigerian set a Games record of 12.30s while also breaking other records, becoming the first world champion to win gold and the first Nigerian athlete to do so.
