Nigerian actor, comedian, Ijoba Lande has revealed that popular celebrity actress and producer, Funke Akindele once paid him ninety thousand naira (90,000) only for one month shooting.
According to him, she ripped him off and took advantage of him.
Ijoba Lande made this shocking revelation in voice note that’s now trending on social media.
Although Lande didn’t reveal the exact year this allegedly happened, he shared details of his payment, revealing he earned N90,000 for his role in the production, which lasted a month at Amen Estate.
Reflecting on his experience, Lande offered words of wisdom to aspiring actors and actresses, cautioning them against idolizing top actors or producers.
The comedian iterated the importance of self-awareness and setting clear boundaries, particularly when it comes to compensation.
Lande also shared that he has learned from his past experiences and now ensures he discloses his fees before accepting any film project.
His advice aims to empower upcoming actors to navigate the industry with confidence and clarity.
He said:
“There was a time Funke Akindele invited me for a movie production at Amen Estate, and we spent a whole month there. To my surprise, after all that time, I was paid just N90,000. This experience taught me a valuable lesson—upcoming actors should never idolize top actors. Now, I’ve learned my worth. Before accepting any job, I will always state my charges upfront. Back then, I was too excited to discuss my fee, only to realize later that excitement doesn’t pay the bills.”
