Forget social media noise, it’s not Peter Obi’s time to be president – Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye, the spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign Council, has stated that it is not yet time for Peter Obi of the Labour Party to become President of Nigeria, urging Nigerians to disregard social media euphoria, Charmingpro reports

On Friday, Melaye maintained that Peter Obi lacked the ability to unite Nigeria, claiming that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate is the only one who possesses that capacity.

He claimed that Obi supporters were nothing more than agitators on social media, and that they lacked the strength to win the 2023 election.

Melaye insisted that Atiku had interacted with Nigerians and that he is confident of victory.

“Peter Obi is an outstanding Nigerian.” I have great admiration for him, but this is not his time. He doesn’t have what it takes to unite this country right now. You need peace before you can talk about the economy. You must instill trust in Nigerians. It will take Atiku to bring this country together. He is the man who can be trusted to bring this country together from north to south, east to west. Among all the presidential candidates, only Atiku Abubakar can be trusted. Nobody will regard him as a religious bigot, a tribalist, or an ethnic jingoist.

“All those yelling Peter Obi, Peter Obi; what is Peter Obi’s social media following?” Even those making those fictitious noises do not follow Peter Obi on social media. Go to Peter Obi’s Twitter and Instagram accounts. How many people are interested in him? Peter Obi traveled to Osun to campaign for the Labour Party’s candidate. The Labour Party received 2,700 votes, while the PDP received over 400,000. “Don’t get carried away by this euphoria,” Melaye advised.
