480 suspected criminals arrested in Abuja from Uncompleted buildings

The FCT Administration arrested 480 suspected criminals on Friday from unfinished buildings and undeveloped plots of land in Maitama and Wuse II, Charmingpro reports

Mr Bennett Igweh, commander of the task force, stated that the suspects, the majority of whom were men, had turned green spaces, undeveloped plots of land, and vacant houses into havens for criminals.

Igweh stated that the team would go to any length to rid the city of criminal elements threatening the FCT’s peace.

He went on to say that the task force recovered from the suspects police uniforms, cellphones, a loaded pistol, machetes, and charms.

“We apprehended approximately 480 suspected criminals.” We will take many of them to court.

“We’ll conduct thorough profiling because we suspect some of them are Kuje Correctional Centre escapees.”

“We are beginning in the city center and will expand the arrests to other areas.”

He added that the exercise will cover 21 satellite villages and towns in the FCT, ranging from Kabusa to Gishiri, Waru, and Wasa, among others.
