On Tuesday, August 16, a meeting between the Federal government and members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU ended in a deadlock, with no end in sight to the academic union’s lingering strike, Charmingpro reports

Striking lecturers met with the Professor Nimi Briggs committee for about three hours today at the National University Commission in Abuja in an attempt to resolve the issues that have prompted the six-month strike.

According to the striking lecturers who attended the meeting, the Federal government delegation made no new offers to the table other than to beg the lecturers to call off the strike with promises that their demands would be included in the 2023 budget.
