Muhammadu Wabi III, the Emir of Jama’are in Bauchi State, has died.

On Sunday in Bauchi, Sama’ila Yusuf-Jarma, chairman of the Jama’are Local Government Council, confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Mr Yusuf-Jarma said Mr Wabi, 92, died on Sunday at 12:15 a.m. at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a long illness.

Following the death of his father, Muhammadu Wabi II, Mr Wabi was enthroned as emir in 1970.

He is survived by four spouses, 35 children, and a large number of grandkids.

The late emir’s remains would be put to rest today at 2:00 p.m. in Jama’are town.
