The Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye is Dead.
His death at the age of 66years was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Ekiti State Governor Mr. Yinka Oyebode.
According to reports, the Late Speaker who represented Ikere Constituency 1, was receiving treatment for a suspected Cardiac Arrest when he passed away at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) on Wednesday 19/10/2022 evening.
The Late Speaker Afuye a Qualified Lawyer, was a Former Commissioner for Information and Two-Time Member of the State House of Assembly and inaugurated Speaker of the Sixth Assembly on 06/06/2019
He was at the Inauguration Ceremony of the Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his Deputy Mrs. Christiana Afuye on Sunday 16/10/2022, attended the Thanksgiving Service of the new Governor and his Deputy on Tuesday and later chaired the Plenary Session of the Assembly the same Day.
His death which comes a few days from his daughter’s wedding has come as a rude shock to his Constituency Members, Colleagues, Politicians and the entire people of Ekiti State.
