David Adeleke aka Davido, a Nigerian music star, has fulfilled his vow to contribute N250 million to 292 orphanage homes across Nigeria.

Remember that in November 2021, the ‘OBO crooner was the buzz of social media when he urged his friends and colleagues to give one million Naira apiece.

The singer’s first goal was met when he got N200m from friends and colleagues in the industry within hours.

Davido trended for days as CNN interviewed him for obtaining such a large sum of money in such a short period of time.

Davido added N50 million, bringing the total to N250 million, and said that the funds will be donated to Nigerian orphans.

In an update, Davido said on Instagram that he has received successful transactions from 292 orphanages around the country.

Part of the statement read: “I bring you an update as promised. Since its inauguration, the members of the committee have worked tirelessly to ensure that they collate the names and information of the documented and verified orphanages.

“So far, the total of N250m has been disbursed to 292 orphanages.

“I thought it wise to give you my loyal fans, friends and family an update in this regard.

“Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Thank you for your continuous support and prayer.

“Always remember, we rise by lifting others.”

Fans took to social media, applauding Davido for fulfilling his promise and helping orphans across the country.
