Though scheduled to start at 6pm, the show eventually commenced at 9pm with a welcome/warm up comedy skint by comedian SPLENDOUR.  This was followed by the introduction of the event’s Host, Don Nice.

For his welcome speech, Don Nice gave a moving narrative.  In total submission, he prostrated flat on stage to give thanks to God for a decent turn out of guests, despite prevailing adverse winds and scaremongering about the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the country.   He explained how this situation which resulted in some African countries been Red-listed, impacted travel plans of top comedians including PARARAN (Nigeria), and SHATTA BANDLE (Ghana), who were scheduled to perform at the show.

Don Nice further acknowledged and appreciated every guest that turned up to support him, including Nollywood veteran Steve Eboh, U.K. based Nollywood actors Collins Archie Pearce, Princess Rita, Stainless D.

In his own words, Don Nice on his knees, said ‘Yesterday, I almost cancelled the show, but I decided against it because I know my people will never let me down.  God bless you all for coming’.

Don Nice proceeded to introducing the Acts to perform on the night.  First in line were the young and handsome musical duo, brothers Osazee & Marcus who gave a brilliant performance. This was followed by performances by Edirin Smith, Bayo Bayz and Splendour.

The atmosphere in the hall changed completely, with the audience going gaga and reeling in laughter when the last Act for the night, ‘I Go Laugh’ stepped on stage.  His slot was a true definition of ‘leaving the best for last’.

It was indeed a show full of fun and laughter, from beginning to the end.  According to one of the guests, ‘I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  If only this Comedy show can be holding every weekend, so I can be laughing every weekend like I did tonight, honestly God punish Covid’.  What a statement of wishful thinking, yet how very true!
