Baba Ijesha: Why I don’t owe Princess any apologies – Yomi Fabiyi

Yomi Fabiyi, a well-known Nollywood actor and producer, has stated that he does not owe comedian Damilola Adekoya, also known as Princess, an apology for his support of fellow actor Baba Ijesha, Charmingpro reports

This comes two months after Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, alias Baba Ijesha, was found guilty by a court of indecent treatment of Princess’ foster daughter and sexual assault of a minor, among other charges.

Yomi Fabiyi stated this during an interview with media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown on Friday’s Your View TV show.

“Naturally, I don’t believe I owe an apology because there was a misunderstanding about what I was really standing for.” And I believe that Nigerians were not taught the fundamental concepts and tenets of human rights. We were not raised to understand that when an issue is raised, the key actors deserve to be protected in any case. When I notice that the rights of the victim and complainant have been granted to them, why should anyone feel sad or bad that I am agitating for the defendant’s rights to be upheld as well?”
