Atiku vs Wike: PDP opens up on reconciliation efforts

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has spoken out about the ongoing efforts to reconcile its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, Charmingpro reports

Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, stated that efforts are being made to reconcile Atiku and Wike.

Ologunagba told journalists in Abuja on Thursday that family misunderstandings are normal, according to reports.

He did, however, point out that the ability to deal with such misunderstandings would always make the difference.

“The PDP believes that people should be able to express themselves. We do not give orders. We allow open discussion of issues, and that is exactly what we are doing. The party’s processes are running smoothly.

“Our processes are competent. It may be slow in comparison to what others expect, but it is ongoing within our democratic process.

“It’s still a work in progress.” We’re getting closer. We are confident that we will succeed. “Not just for the sake of the party, but for the sake of Nigeria,” he stated.

Wike has expressed dissatisfaction with Atiku’s choice of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

The governor wanted to be the PDP’s presidential running mate after finishing second in the party’s presidential primary election.

However, Atiku stated that he chose the best candidate who could deliver in 2023.
