ASUU: Do all you can to settle crisis before NLC protest – Stakeholder tasks Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has been urged to do everything in his power to end the six-month-long ASUU strike and allow students to return to classes before the proposed NLC National protest on Tuesday  Charmingpro reports

A traditional title holder, Gambo Danpass, said in Kano that President Muhammadu Buhari should convene an emergency meeting and ensure that the strike action is called off immediately.

Danpass also urged the National Assembly to work with the Academic Union to find reasons to end the strike.

He claimed that the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, has had no reason to act as a mediator in the ASUU strike for a long time because he has little or nothing to offer.

“Although it is a little late to remove the Labour Minister as the mediator in the lingering strike and hand it over to the Education Minister, Adamu Adamu, the President should still come in and resolve the matter himself.”

“Right now, we have thousands of our children roaming the streets without anything, and the government should be aware that they are willing tools in causing uncertainty in the nation’s peace.”

He also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to take tough measures to stop the abductions and killings of innocent Nigerians.
