During a recent protest by members of Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry, one of the parishioners, later identified as Elijah, threatened to kill Bishop Callistus Onaga of the Enugu Catholic Diocese for shutting down the Adoration Ministry in a viral video. Protesting parishioners could also be heard chanting ‘Onaga Must Go.’
The Pope has already spoken out against the development.
According to the reports, Bishop Onaga ordered the suspension of the ministry’s operations following Mbaka’s outburst against Labour Party presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi, referring to him as a “stingy man.”

Mbaka, who said he is currently on a personal retreat following the controversies surrounding his outbursts, said the Adoration ministry had no plans to attack the Bishop in a live video on the ministry’s Facebook page.
According to him, the alleged Elijah who uttered the threat to kill Bishop Onaga is a confirmed psychiatric patient who should not be taken seriously.
“I’d like to make a disclaimer regarding the rumors that Adoration people were planning to attack Bishop Onaga,” he said. It is not correct. Elijah, the man who made the dangerous remark, is a certified and verified psychiatric patient.
“Elijah used to be naked, but by God’s grace, he now wears clothing.” He is known for threatening people even though he does nothing after the threat. That is his own method of making money from others.
“Elijah had even threatened to kill me if I didn’t make him chairman of all the local governments in Enugu State forcefully and prayerfully.” Elijah wishes to serve as chairman of all 17 local governments. He is the type of person he is. He even threatened to kill me if I didn’t make him president.
“He has stated several times that he wishes to succeed Bishop Onaga as Bishop of Enugu Diocese.” Is this the person whose words you can trust? There will be no attack or plot against the Bishop from the Adoration Ministry. I wash my hands of whoever is thinking that.
