Simon Guobadia, the ex-husband of The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, has reportedly been indicted by federal prosecutors in Georgia over allegations that he assisted in preparing and filing false federal tax returns.
According to court documents cited by TMZ, Guobadia was indicted on Tuesday on two counts relating to the alleged tax offences.
Prosecutors allege that in March 2021, Guobadia reported zero taxable income despite allegedly knowing that his actual earnings were higher. During the same period, his company, Simcol Petroleum Limited, reportedly recorded more than $45 million in gross sales.
The indictment further alleges that in July 2021, he declared taxable income of just $58,231, while the company recorded nearly $31 million in gross sales.
Federal prosecutors contend that Guobadia knew the figures reported in the tax filings did not accurately reflect his taxable income and the company’s financial activities.
Court records reportedly indicate that an arrest warrant has been issued, although it remains unclear whether he has been taken into custody.
Guobadia’s personal life has also attracted considerable public attention. He married Porsha Williams in November 2022, but she filed for divorce in February 2024. Their separation subsequently became the subject of widely publicised legal proceedings.
Reports have also indicated that Williams secured the couple’s multimillion-dollar Atlanta mansion and a seven-figure settlement following the divorce proceedings. Guobadia was reportedly deported from the United States in 2025 amid immigration-related issues.
The latest allegations add another legal development to the businessman’s already eventful public life. However, an indictment is an allegation, not a conviction, and Guobadia is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
