Mohbad’s Father Breaks Silence on DNA Controversy: Exposes Fake Testing Centers, Debunks Fundraising Rumours, and Calls for Lagos Government Intervention

In a fresh twist to the lingering Mohbad saga, the father of the late Nigerian singer, Joseph Aloba, has publicly addressed the heated DNA controversy surrounding his grandson, while firmly debunking viral rumours that he was begging for financial help from Naira Marley and controversial activist VeryDarkMan (VDM).

Speaking out amid growing public frustration over the delayed resolution of his son’s case, Aloba expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nigerians and well-meaning supporters who have continued to push for justice since Mohbad’s tragic death in September 2023.

“I want to thank everyone who has stood by us in this fight for justice,” he said, according to recent reports.

However, the grieving father wasted no time in setting the record straight on damaging online claims. Reports had circulated suggesting he reached out to Naira Marley and VDM for money to pay rent. Aloba dismissed the allegations as completely false, revealing that he is, in fact, a landlord and has no need for assistance with housing.

“The claims are not true. I am a landlord. I don’t need anyone to pay my rent,” he clarified.

DNA Test Drama Takes Centre Stage

The core of Aloba’s statement centred on the ongoing paternity test for Mohbad’s only child, which has become a major bone of contention. He revealed that his lawyer recently discovered shocking irregularities with the designated testing facilities.

According to the elder Aloba, the DNA testing centre selected by the Lagos State welfare officer, as well as the one chosen by the legal team representing Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Aloba, are both illegitimate and not accredited for such sensitive forensic work.

“This situation makes it look like some people are deliberately trying to hide the truth,” he alleged, raising fresh suspicions of possible sabotage in the high-profile case.

The late singer’s father stressed that a credible DNA test is non-negotiable before any final burial rites can be performed for Mohbad. He has now called on the Lagos State Government to urgently intervene and ensure that a genuine, internationally recognised testing centre is used to establish the paternity of the child once and for all.

“The DNA test must be done properly. We cannot proceed with the burial until we know the truth,” Aloba emphasised.

Why This Matters

Mohbad’s untimely death sparked massive outrage across Nigeria and the global Afrobeats community, with fingers pointed at his former label boss, Naira Marley, and others. The case has since been mired in controversies ranging from alleged police brutality, autopsy delays, and now the paternity dispute.

As public pressure mounts, many Nigerians are watching closely to see how the Lagos State Government responds to this latest plea. Will authorities step in to guarantee a transparent DNA process, or will the delays continue?

Joseph Aloba’s statement has reignited conversations online, with many demanding swift action to allow the family closure while ensuring justice is served without compromise.
