Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Elozonam, has shared candid thoughts about why he is skeptical about marriage.
Speaking on a recent episode of the WithChude podcast, he said repeated exposure to failed marriages among friends and people close to him—many of which he personally celebrated—has made him question the institution.
According to him, he has watched several unions end in conflict and public drama, often without clear explanations, creating a pattern that has shaped his outlook. While he acknowledged that some marriages may end simply because they no longer work for both partners, he said the dominant narrative he sees is one of breakdown and disappointment.
Elozonam admitted that successful marriages exist but noted that they are less visible because happy couples tend to focus on their lives rather than share their stories publicly.
He also pointed out that constant exposure to negative marriage stories on social media began to affect his mindset, prompting him to intentionally step back from such discussions to protect his perspective.
The reality TV star concluded that, for now, these experiences have left him unconvinced that marriage is something he necessarily needs in his life.
