An Ibadan-based pharmacist, Mr. Rasheed Ayinde is dead.

Charmingpro gathered that Ayinde’s death is coming few days after his pharmaceutical shop was sealed by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).

A pharmacist, who spoke with Charmingpro on Saturday, revealed that one of Ayinde’s staff told him that Ayinde collapsed after his shop was locked up by the PCN.

Our correspondent learnt that PCN had during the week sealed some pharmaceutical shops due to alleged non-compliance to the rules of the profession.

Charmingpro gathered on Saturday that Pharmacist Ayinde has been buried.

The Janazah prayer was held at University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan.

The deceased, according to the pharmacist who asked not to be named, is the owner of General Medix Pharmacy.

The pharmacy is located after Gbaremu Market, along Eleyele Road in Ibadan.

The source added that Ayinde was a member of Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria and Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.

The source said, “I was told by his staff that Pharmacist Ayinde collapsed after his premises was locked up by the PCN. He has now been buried.

“Yes, every pharmacy belongs to the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria and Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria. He was a member until his death”.

Chairman, Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter, Mr. Gbadamosi confirmed the death of Mr. Ayinde to Charmingpro on Saturday.

Gbadamosi, however, said that the death should not be linked to the sealing of the pharmaceutical shop.

He confirmed that Ayinde was one of those whose premises were sealed, but the death should not be attached to the sealing of the premises.

He said, “I may not be able to say if it is as a result of the sealing.

“Because, I don’t know what to say on that. This is because they sealed so many premises, which I think is their work, so we don’t have to attach it to it. But, of course, he was one of those whose premises were sealed
