The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Senators’ move to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari is gaining traction among concerned Nigerians, Charmingpro reportsÂ
Recall that the PDP Senators caucus walked out of the Senate on Wednesday in protest of the country’s increasing insecurity.
Senator Philip Aduda, the minority leader, stated that the PDP senators gave President Muhammadu Buhari six weeks to resolve terrorist attacks in the country or face impeachment.
In response, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom praised the lawmakers for taking action to force the president to address the security crisis.
The Governor, who spoke in Abuja yesterday, called the Senate’s decision to impeach the President “patriotic” and praised some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for doing the “right thing.”
Similarly, Anthony Ehilabo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) head of New Media, told Charmingpro on Friday that impeaching the president was the only way to solve the country’s current security crisis.
He asked Buhari to hand over to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, claiming that the VP can put a stop to terrorist activities in the country.
“The solution right now is to impeach Buhari and allow Osinbajo to work, even if only for one day,” Ehilabo said.
“Osinbajo has the ability to restructure.” He knows exactly what to do. I’m afraid that if Buhari stays in power as things currently stand, we’ll all be doomed.
“May God forbid. They have already annexed the FCT, and if you are a strategist, you will not allow terrorists in states such as Kaduna, Niger, Kogi, and Nasarawa.
“Because seizing those states entails an invasion of the FCT.” Which of the previously mentioned states does not have a presence of ISWAP, Boko Haram, and bandits?
“The president has not considered bringing in Private Military Contractors, PMC, right away.” The military can no longer handle it.
“Relegate them to the outskirts. And, as you can see, the president has left our borders open and porous. Why not use the same checks you use down south? Why are the service chiefs still in charge?
“What is the rationale?” Issuing riot orders What formations are there in Jaji? Kaduna has a lot of formations. First, clean up the northwest. Put these guys on the defensive.
“Unfortunately, these are the ones who are advancing. There has been no affirmative action since the Kuje incident. “Who and what were fired?”
However, in a statement issued by the President’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, in response to the impeachment move, the Presidency described the opposition senators’ actions as “babyish,” advising them to put their time to better use.
