2023: Funke Akindele has nothing to offer – APC mocks PDP

The nomination of Funke Akindele as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) deputy governorship candidate underscores the party’s lack of seriousness, according to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagso State, Charmingpro reports

Mr. Seye Oladejo, the party’s spokesman, said this in a statement after Funke Akindele confirmed her entry into politics.

He claimed that the PDP was trivalising the election by “giving electoral tickets to political neophytes who have absolutely nothing to bring to the table.”

“It also demonstrates a lack of depth in the party in terms of quality members to put forward for elections if they could give the governorship ticket to a member who crossed the carpet a few days before their primaries and then went to the make-believe industry to fetch a deputy,” he added.

He emphasized that governance was a serious business, not a show.

“I was amused to read that the deputy governorship candidate announced that she would be suspending her acting career for the elections, the outcome of which is highly predictable.”

“I guess she’s suspending a lot more because she’s recently been in the news for all the wrong reasons,” he added.

He stated that Lagos residents will not allow governance in the state to be turned into a pointless experiment.
