Abdullahi Adamu, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that the party will ensure the victory of presidential candidate Bola Tinubu in 2023.
Adamu made the remarks during a meeting of party leaders with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Saturday.
“Our main goal is to see the APC succeed in the upcoming general elections.
“There is no better parting gift (for Buhari) than ensuring the APC produces the next President,” he said.
Atiku Bagudu, Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), told Buhari that he had set a precedent for internal party democracy.
According to the governor of Kebbi state, Nigeria’s president is determined to see the democratic process succeed.
“We have seen that democratic processes can produce very good results.”
Bagudu went on to say that the ruling party has a candidate and running mate (Kashim Shettima) “who we are all proud of.”
