2023: APC lacks capacity to win elections – Senator Abe

Senator Magnus Ngei Abe stated on Monday that the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, lacked the ability to win the state’s general elections in 2023, Charmingpro reports

Abe also revealed that he dumped the party based on this premise.

The former APC chieftain made these remarks while appearing on a live television program in PortHarcourt, the state capital.

Governor Wike, however, will not be the sole decider of who will succeed him in the 2023 general elections, according to Abe.

“If the President of Nigeria, who is more powerful than the governor, cannot decide who will be the next President to succeed him,” he says, “then the governor of Rivers State will not decide.”

“The people of Rivers State will decide on that.” And, to quote the governor, he has stated on numerous occasions that he will allow the people of Rivers State to choose his successor, and I know him to be a man of his word.

“I believe he will do everything in his power to create an environment in which those interested in succeeding him, regardless of political party, will have a fair chance to compete.”

Abe, who is believed to have joined the Social Democratic Party, SDP, to pursue his gubernatorial ambitions, has also expressed a desire to succeed Wike in 2023.

“What chances do I have in the state?” he asked. Very good chances. Elections are always won by me. In Rivers State, I never lose elections. The contest is always tense because power struggles are always tense, but someone must win.

“What is important is that we let the people of Rivers State decide.” I am willing to accept whatever the people of Rivers State decide. I am willing to submit myself.
