VeryDarkMan drags Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin over fake resurrection prophecy

Popular Nigerian critic, activist and social media commentator, Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has dragged popular Delta-based Nigerian prophet, Jeremiah Fufeyin, over alleged resurrection video.

This comes after a video that has since gone viral allegedly shows the cleric bringing a woman on life support back to life.

In a fiery video response, VeryDarkMan dismissed the so-called miracle as nothing more than a staged performance, accusing the prophet of using religion as a tool to deceive and exploit vulnerable Nigerians.

“Prophet Jeremiah, that was a beautiful performance. The actors really did a good job,” he said sarcastically. “But I have an auntie who is currently in the hospital. We’ve spent so much money. Since you can heal the sick, I’m begging you in front of everyone—follow me to Gariki Hospital. If you heal her like you healed that woman, I’ll drop the court case. I’ll pay that one billion you’re suing me for. Just come and prove it.”

VeryDarkMan, known for his no-holds-barred criticism of religious leaders, didn’t stop there. He took aim at what he described as the “false advertising” of miracles in Nigeria, and urged the government to begin regulating such displays.

“This is a serious problem in Africa. We can’t keep blaming the government alone. A lot of these pastors are also holding the youth back. They’ve used religion to stall progress. The government should start regulating these so-called miracles online—just like Obasanjo did to Pastor Chris back in the day.”

He questioned why miracle-working pastors don’t go to hospitals or conflict zones.

“If Prophet Jeremiah is so powerful, let him go to any hospital and heal just five people. That’s all. Why are these miracles only happening in churches and on camera? Where were they when herdsmen were attacking people in Jos, Benue, Bayelsa, Enugu, and Edo? Why don’t they pray against that?”

He also referenced a time when he tested Prophet Jeremiah’s so-called “miracle water.” He said;

“I once took that miracle water and gave it to physically challenged people. Nothing happened. No improvement. And yet, NAFDAC hasn’t shut down the place where they sell it. How? Why?”

While he acknowledged that miracles can happen, VeryDarkMan said most of what is being presented by popular pastors today is pure deception—meant to draw in members and increase offerings.

“I’m not saying miracles don’t exist. They do. But not the way this man is packaging it. This is fraud. These people are thieves—using religion to get rich off the people’s pain.”

He broadened his criticism to include other religious leaders, including imams:

“It’s not just pastors. Many imams have twisted the Quran to push their own agenda. Both Christianity and Islam are being used to manipulate people. Jesus rode on a donkey once. Nigerian pastors are riding private jets. Some even compete over who can build the biggest church.”

He ended his message with a passionate plea to young Nigerians:

“Young people, wake up. Use your hands. Build something. Don’t sit around waiting for a miracle. If you do, life will teach you the hard way. We’ll keep speaking, we’ll keep exposing them—so that even long after we’re gone, people will still find our videos and learn the truth. Like Fela.”

Then, channeling Fela Kuti, he sang:

“Pastor na enjoyment. Imam dey para. Imam sef dey enjoy. Popo sef dey enjoy…”
