At least two persons have been confirmed dead while several others were seriously injured in a shooting that took place at a street party in Memphis, Tennessee, United States.
According to CNN, the US police have said that both the fatalities were males, noting that one of the victims was in critical condition.
The incident occurred on Saturday night when over 300 people gathered for a street party in the Memphis city.
The Memphis Police Chief, C.J. Davis said at least two people opened fire at the event, resulting in the death of two persons while about 16 others were injured.
“We are working tirelessly tonight to identify the individuals who were involved in this shooting,” Davis said Saturday night.
The police chief noted that investigation into the shooting was ongoing, stressing that the department has received video footage from the scene and is looking for those responsible
