Engr Kingsley Okorafor, a senior official of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has been kidnapped near his home in Umuadara Umulogho autonomous community in Imo State, Charmingpro reports.

The dare-devil armed men abducted him in the early hours of Saturday morning, about three kilometers away from a military checkpoint in the area, according to reports.

Eze Patrick Uwalaka, the community’s traditional ruler, has already confirmed the latest development.

According to a family source, the NDDC official attended a vigil for late Eze Innocent Anyawu, the Traditional Ruler of Ndihu autonomous community in Obowo LGA, whose burial is scheduled for today, Saturday July 16.

He claimed that the victim was pursued after leaving the vigil to return to his community, leaving his car behind.

As of the time of writing, the suspected kidnappers had not yet reached out to the family members for a ransom.

Attempts to reach Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) CSP Mike Abattam by phone were futile.
