Tinubu-Shettima ticket: Politicians should always consider Nigerians – Pastor Kumuyi

William Kumuyi, General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has stated that politicians should always consider Nigerians’ desires when making decisions, Charmingpro reports.

Kumuyi made the remark while noting that the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, chose Borno Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate, which he described as a risk.

Nigerians were outraged when Tinubu decided to run on a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Nigerians expected Tinubu to choose a Christian to balance his presidential ticket, but he chose a Northern Muslim instead.

When making their decision, politicians, according to Kumuyi, should remember that they did not elect themselves into office.

He spoke after meeting with Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq yesterday.

“The Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christan ticket is a difficult and slippery area,” the clergyman told journalists.

“The APC presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu, and his party went down that shady path to make Borno Sen and ex-Governor Kashim Shettima his running mates.”

“What I will say is that political office holders should consider the country’s heartbeat as well as the people’s desires.”

“Politicians should understand that they are not there to serve themselves.” They are available to all of us. They should inquire and conduct research into what the nation desires.

“They should ask and conduct research on what the country and people want; if they listen to the people, we will be confident that they will listen to us when they arrive.”
