Terrorists attacked a military checkpoint near Zuma rock in Niger State on Thursday night  Charmingpro reports

The site is near Madalla town and close to Zuba on the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

The insurgents arrived shortly after 7 p.m. and opened fire on the troops, killing some.

According to a source, they took control of the area for about 30 minutes.

The attackers continued to fire before making their way to the expressway’s Kaduna axis.

Zuma Barracks soldiers and police officers have been dispatched to the scene.

The incident occurred just days after terrorists clashed with the Presidential Guards Brigade along Abuja’s Kubwa-Bwari road.

The Brigade, an elite arm of the Nigerian Army, is in charge of protecting Nigeria’s President.

At least three personnel were killed in the ambush, and several others were injured.
