Terrorism in Abuja: Baze University shuts down, issues directives to students

Baze University has closed due to heavy road repairs near the campus, Charmingpro reports

However, Charmingpro has learned that the decision may be linked to the rampant insecurity in Abuja and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Remember that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, had warned of terrorist plans to attack some Nigerian states, including the FCT.

The NSCDC advised all state commands across the country to protect public places and government facilities.

In a related development, the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, directed the deployment of additional assets to strategic areas of the FCT.

This followed an attack on officials of the Nigerian Army Presidential Guards Brigade’s 7 Guards Battalion in Bwari Area Council, Abuja.

The attack injured three soldiers and killed eight others.

Following this incident, the Ministry of Education ordered the immediate closure of the Federal Government College, Kwali, as well as all Unity Schools throughout the FCT, citing security concerns.

The administration of Baze University, located at 2C44+7CR, Plot 686, Jabi Airport Road Bypass, Cadastral Zone, Abuja, has now advised all students to return home.
