The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Aderemi Adeoye, has urged residents of Onitsha to be law abiding in order to ensure a peaceful atmosphere for business.

Adeoye made the call during a working visit to Onitsha on Monday, a day the sit-at-home order is observed in the Southeast.

He said that the visit was to undertake an on-the-spot assessment of the security situation in the commercial city.

NAN reports that the commissioner of police used the visit to meet with shuttle drivers operating along the Upper Iweka area of the town.

Adeoye urged residents of the city to support the police with credible information that would help it to fight crime.

”I urge you all to be law-abiding, vigilant, and to promptly report acts of crime to the nearest police station,” he said.

He said that residents of the city could also call the Command’s Control Room Number: ‘07039194332’ for intelligent information.

”We need synergy with the public to effectively perform our duties, we should work as allies,” he said
