Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the construction of the long-awaited fourth Mainland bridge.

He said the project will commence at the end of March or April.

The governor stated this on Thursday in an address at the Lagos West Senatorial District Town Hall Meeting held at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton, Ikeja Lagos state.

Sanwo-Olu said, “We’ve done extensive work on the bridge. But we are at the crossroads of where to get the real financing for that kind of project. We’ll need to be very very creative.”

“Our commitment is that within this first quarter, meaning that by the end of March or April, we should break ground to start the construction of the Fourth Mainland Bridge,” he added.

He had earlier at the same event announced that the Lagos Red Line rail would be unveiled in February.

The governor said he had written to President Bola Tinubu regarding the unveiling of the rail line.
