The House of Representatives has shifted its resumption date by one week.
Members of the lower parliament were scheduled to return from their annual vacation on Tuesday, September 17, but their resumption of plenary has now been moved to Tuesday, September 24, at 11.00 am.
A statement by the spokesman of the House, Akintunde Rotimi said the decision to reschedule the resumption was communicated to members through an internal memo by the Clerk of the House, Dr Yahaya Danzaria, based on the directive of the House Leadership.
The reason for the shift in the date of resumption is unknown.
Rotimi further revealed that when the House reconvenes, it will inaugurate the new board of the Public Complaints Commission, PCC, and the Joint Senate/House Ad Hoc Committees on the Petroleum Industry Investigation on September 25.
