Calls for justice are mounting following allegations that an SS3 student, Maryiane Okonkwo, was brutally beaten at Command Secondary School Iyana Ipaja.
According to reports circulating online, the student was allegedly assaulted on the school premises by a bursar identified as Farouk Ohieari. The incident has sparked widespread concern among parents and members of the public.
It is further alleged that the school has refused to release the student to her mother for proper medical treatment, reportedly out of fear that the matter could attract public attention. These claims have not yet been independently verified.
There are also allegations that authorities may be considering quietly transferring the staff member involved rather than pursuing disciplinary or legal action. Some sources claim this may not be the first such incident at the institution, but that previous cases were not publicly challenged due to the school’s military affiliation.
As of the time of reporting, the school has not issued an official statement addressing the allegations.
Concerned individuals and advocacy groups are now urging relevant education authorities and security agencies to investigate the claims thoroughly and ensure accountability if any wrongdoing is established.
